ThreadPoint community sessions are open to everyone: children, young people, parents, grandparents, neighbours and anyone curious about how the digital world actually works. Through storytelling, hands-on building and shared discovery, we bring the hidden systems behind digital life into the libraries, community centres and shared spaces where people already gather.

Each session uses story, conversation and hands-on discovery to make digital infrastructure easier to understand. Families and neighbours explore where the cloud actually lives, how a message really travels, and who keeps it all working, through storytelling, hands-on building and conversation rather than screens and lectures.
These sessions are made for libraries, community centres, family hubs, housing association spaces, youth settings and local events. They are deliberately different from our school workshops: looser, warmer, multi-generational, and shaped around the space and the people who turn up.
If you are curious, you are welcome. That is the whole entry requirement.

Library family workshop
A story-led session for children and their grown-ups, built around our book and hands-on making. The classic Saturday morning session.
Intergenerational community session
All ages around the same tables: grandparents and grandchildren building together, teenagers explaining the cloud, neighbours comparing questions.
Estate and neighbourhood series
A repeating run of sessions in one community venue, so families can come back, go deeper and bring friends.
Holiday programme block
Sessions designed for school holiday programmes, family hubs and holiday activity funding, high energy, low barrier.
Community event activity
A drop-in ThreadPoint corner for fun days, festivals and open events, five-minute wonder or an hour of building, visitor's choice.

Inclusive by design. Sessions are intentionally created for a wide range of learners, including children with additional needs: clear structure, visual supports, flexible participation and calm facilitation throughout, with SEND-aware delivery designed with autism, ADHD, dyslexia and varied learning needs in mind. Everyone engages at their own pace, with many ways to take part.
Understanding belongs to everyone.
Digital infrastructure is arriving in communities faster than understanding of it, and the people with the most at stake are often the least likely to be told what it is or asked what they think. Meanwhile, digital life shapes everything from homework to housing applications, and whole generations use systems no one ever explained to them.
Community workshops close that gap where trust already lives: the local library, the community centre, the family hub. When a grandparent and a grandchild discover together where the cloud actually lives, something shifts: questions get better, conversations continue at home, and a neighbourhood becomes a little more confident about the systems around it.
We do not tell people what to think. We show them how things work.

Bring ThreadPoint to your community.
We partner with libraries, community centres, family hubs, housing associations, youth services and councils to bring funded workshops into local spaces. The arrangement is simple: we bring the facilitation, story, materials and delivery; you bring the room and help us welcome the community.
Everything delivered
Trained, DBS-checked facilitators, all materials and books, safeguarding compliance and public liability insurance, and a session shaped to your space.
Easy for your team
No preparation or expertise needed from your staff. We handle setup, delivery and pack-down; you handle the kettle, if you like.
Evidence you can use
Attendance, participant voice and photography gathered under consent, with a session summary you can share with managers, members, funders and boards.
Funded access
Community sessions are free to attend because partners and sponsors fund access through the ThreadPoint Infrastructure Literacy Fund. Sponsors support access, never content: every session is written and delivered independently by ThreadPoint.
Commission sessions directly
Libraries, councils, housing associations and community organisations can commission single sessions, series or holiday programmes, priced as complete packages with delivery and reporting included.
